Refractory
Refractory work happens under the worst conditions on the site — hot, confined, on the critical path, and usually during a shutdown that cannot be extended.
Scope
- Installation supervision — bricking, castables, gunning, precast
- Kiln linings — burning zone through to inlet
- Preheater and calciner — cyclones, ducts, risers
- Cooler linings
- Inspection — wear surveys, remaining-life assessment, repair planning
- Failure investigation — when a lining has not lasted
Shutdown work
Most refractory assignments are shutdown-driven and planned to the day. Our supervisors are used to working to a fixed window with a crew they did not hire.
